Case Details
- February 14, 2023: Jallad was arrested by security units in front of his house late at night.
- Lawyer Mabrouk Kourchid, a member of Jallad’s defense team, said that his client was referred to the Anti-Terrorism Squad “for investigation” adding that Jallad was initially heard in the financial pole regarding his financial accounts before being referred to the Anti-Terrorism Squad where he was heard regarding his political relations and what he intends to do regarding the political situation. Kourchid confirmed that he attended the interrogation session with his client, and that the questions were mostly about Jallad’s political relations and a number of well-known political figures, in addition to his party activities.
- On the day of his arrest, Jallad wrote a post on his Facebook page in the morning saying: “All my support for Mosaique FM and its employees after the editorial line became a crime into which an investigation is opened and the director of the station is arrested as a result”.
- February 22, 2023: His lawyer reported that a prison order was issued against Walid Jallad “In relation toa case concerning financial management in the Suleiman Association”. According to Mosaique, the investigating judge decided to keep a second defendant, who was detained with Walid Jallad, on bail, after having his photographs and fingerprints taken and being banning from traveling.
