About Us
“Freedom for Tunisia” is a digital platform founded by a group of Tunisians defending human rights and the gains of the 2011 revolution. We seek to defend all Tunisians and enable them to exercise their rights and prevent any violations of their freedom. We also seek to consolidate democracy, preserve the gains of human rights and ensure the authorities’ commitment to the rule of law and adherence to international standards.
Our work is focused on promoting human rights in Tunisia, where civil and political rights have been witnessing a significant decline since July 25, 2021. We work with local observers and lawyers to document violations against individuals in addition to issuing periodic reports in continuous communication with organizations and international courts.
We seek to establish a human rights observatory with the aim of defending Tunisians and their rights, especially those persecuted by the coup regime and its enablers. We also seek to achieve justice by filing complaints against symbols and elements of the regime, to restrict their actions in every country they travel to, putting their names on blacklists, and exposing their violations and corruption.
We also aim to be the freedom portal that everyone who is subjected to injustice, violation, or harassment by the regime and its accomplices resorts to, and we cooperate with the legal team to look into the violations we receive.
- Introducing Tunisian victims and prisoners of conscience at the international level.
- Organizing protests, activities, online fora and press conferences to pressure the regime with the aim of releasing detainees.
- Exposing regime elements involved in the coup and implicated in inhumane crimes and violations.
- Monitoring the behavior of authorities in everything related to violating laws and issuing annual reports in cooperation with partners.
